The other day i decided to finally give in and give oil paint a try, and i must say I am pretty impressed. Up to now i have never really experimented past water colors, and acrylics. For me it always seemed to work, i like painting fast anyways so i never really saw the need for oils. After this painting i realized that it was a lot more than just keeping the paint wet. The colors pop off the canvas much more than with acrylics, just creates a more vibrant picture. Really enjoyed blending the colors together so easily. I normally struggle a lot with shading in acrylics because of the timing. Oil is a real nice change of pace that I am sure ill be using more of.
This is my favorite! So so good…love the message behind the purple hues. I’ve always loved the combination of purple with green. That striking colorful contrast always sang to me.
